‘Last Dance’ Park Hang-seo catches Thailand and leaves with the trophy in Vietnam

Director Park Hang-seo’s last dance has reached its final destination. One last game to go home with the trophy begins.

The Vietnam national soccer team, led by coach Park Hang-seo, will play the second leg of the 2022 AFF (ASEAN Football Federation) Mitsubishi Electric Cup final against Thailand at 9:30 pm (Korean time) on the 16th at Thammasat Stadium in Pathum Thani, Thailand.

In the first leg held at home, Vietnam drew 2-2 with Thailand. Nguyen Tien Ling scored the opening goal, but Thailand managed to turn it around with goals from Poramet Arzvirai in the 3rd minute and Sarachi Yuyen in the 18th minute. In the 43rd minute of the second half, substitute Vu Van Thanh’s wonderful goal scored a dramatic draw for Vietnam.

Vietnam finished in a draw for now, but there is a burden in that it conceded two away goals to Thailand. In the Mitsubishi Cup, where the away goal principle is applied, Vietnam challenges to win the championship for the first time in four years with a victory in the second leg of the away game in Thailand.

Moreover, Vietnam is Park’s last official game. Coach Park concludes his partnership with Vietnam over the past five years with this tournament as an end.

As it is Director Park’s ‘Last Dance’, the desire to win this competition is very high in Vietnam. On the 13th, when the last home game was played, during the first leg of the final, Vietnamese home fans raised a large phrase, “THANK YOU,” toward Coach Park. Taegeukgi was flying all over the spectators

. Captain Que Ngoc Hai, who finished with the end, said, “I don’t need to say more about what coach Park Hang-seo and his coaching staff have given to Vietnamese football over the past five years. It’s been a huge success. He has raised 메이저놀이터 Vietnamese football to the level of Southeast Asia and Asia.”

“Thank you to coach Park Hang-seo and there is nothing better than winning the championship. We have the desire and belief that we can give the championship as a gift to the coach. We are ready. With the spirit of dedication for the coach’s last game and the fans, We will fight. Our goal is to win and take the trophy home.”

Of course, the opponent, Thailand, is a formidable opponent. It is true that Thailand, the team with the most wins in this tournament (six times), has a slightly better advantage. Thailand, who is also the defending champion, will challenge for a second straight title in the tournament.

Thailand’s concern is that key striker Tirasil Dangda has revealed physical problems. In training the day before the match, Dangda did light jogging and stretching separately from the team.

Coach Alexandre Pölking said, “We have time to see if Dang will start. Nothing has been decided. He is an experienced player, so we can miss him, but even if he doesn’t play, other players can play a role.” showed
