Aaron Judge, 31, of the New York Yankees, who quickly jumped from zero to Most Valuable Player (MVP) after returning from injury, was the hottest American League player last month.
Jersey was named the American 스포츠토토 League Player of the Month on Wednesday, Major League Baseball announced. It’s the first time this season and the sixth time in his career.
He previously won the award twice in 2017 and three times last year. He was also named Rookie of the Month three times in 2017.
The performance was good enough to earn the honor. In 21 games last month, Judge batted .342 with 12 home runs, 25 RBIs, 23 runs scored, 26 doubles, a .474 slugging percentage, and a 1.356 OPS.
That’s a staggering improvement over his April numbers, which included a .261 batting average, .352 OPS, and .863 slugging percentage. This quickly catapulted him to the top of the MVP conversation.
In his stellar month, through the last two days of the season, Judge has hit .298 with 18 home runs, 39 doubles, 41 RBI, 50 runs scored, and a .410 OPS of 1.088 in 47 games.
That’s among the best in the majors by most metrics. In the first year of his mega-contract, a nine-year, $360 million deal, Judge is looking for a back-to-back MVP.
